A plane and a helicopter collided in midair over the Potomac River near Washington, D.C., at around 9:00 p.m. local time on January 28, 2025, killing all 67 people on board. The incident follows fatal accidents involving Jeju Air and Azerbaijan Airlines in December 2024, and a year earlier, a JAL Boeing plane collided with a coast guard plane on a runway in Japan.
